mom’s granola

Mom's Granola (1 of 1)

This is a recipe my mom developed for the kid’s breakfast. I love it with yogurt and honey, and the kids eat it like it’s candy in the mornings.

1/2 cup shredded cocoanut

5 cups oats

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup sliced almonds

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 honey

Heat the oven to 300.

Melt the butter, honey, and vanilla together in a sauce pan until the butter has melted. In a large mixing bowl mix together the almonds, oats, and cocoanut. Pour the melted butter mixture over the oat mixture, mix to combine.

Spread the granola mixture on a cookie sheet, and bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until dry and golden.

  1. This looks delish! The recipe says 1/2 honey-What measurement should I use when adding the honey? I’m a mom to elementary children and would be delighted to have one of my children feature a recipe on their blog (not that they have blogs currently), how honoring to your mom! I found your site through Nourishing Gourmet.
