About Madey

This blog is somewhat of a time capsule of my life. I first started it in 2008 when I was 13 years-old (honestly, what 13-year-old knows anything about cooking?). Then when I was in high school and early college I really started blogging, and even wrote a cookbook inspired by this blog. However, life happened and the blog sat abandoned for 3 years.

Now it’s 2017, I am 23, and this blog is in the middle of a revival. I just moved from my childhood home in the woods of Oregon, to San Diego, CA. I graduated from University and almost instantly moved, with so much change in such a short amount of time I found one thing in my life was consistent: cooking. Encouraged by family and friends to start blogging again and I decided I should just go for it.

I hope you enjoy the recipes you find here, they come from my heart and are things I would want to share with you if we were friends in real life (and if we are friends in real life, I may have shared them with you).

  1. I’m so glad I found your blog! You capture all the beauty and perfection that makes Portland splendid and wonderful! Perfect for when I’m feeling homesick. Thank you πŸ˜€

  2. What a simply beautiful blog and photos. I saw your guest post on Nourishing Gourmet and clicked on over because I was inspired that you are only 18 years old and so ambitious. I thought to myself…”I wonder if she was homeschooled?”. We just started homeschooling my oldest son (11 years old) and this is the reason why we are doing it. Innovation, freedom to create, and time to dream! Congratulations to you for living out loud and following your passion.

PS- I love to cook and will try your chocolate mousse very soon.

PSS – love, love, love your Rome pics, it is a fabulous city and amazing country

    • Hey! Thanks for clicking the link on The Nourishing Gourmet! I totally agree with homeschooling as a way to enable kids to be free and innovative. It has allowed me to travel, and pursue my dreams (writing a cookbook). I encourage you in your homeschooling endeavors! In the long run your son will think you! πŸ™‚
And, do try the mousse, it’s very good πŸ™‚
